Inch Abbey is a gothic ruin that used to house monks and is now visited by sword carrying Game of Thrones fans dressed in cloaks fledging their fealty to the King in the North!
Stark Banner
Longclaw!
After walking around in the rain all day, we finally got a break in the weather long enough enough to don our Stark cloaks and play with swords. It was so much fun. Poor Robbie, our tour guide, couldn't get us back on the bus. But hey, he understands. He got to do this professionally as an extra on Game of Thrones!

You don't have to make a fool of yourself to enjoy visiting Inch Abbey. I love old ruins. You pass by an old graveyard to get here. Even better!
Inch Abbey was once an island surrounded by the River Quoile.
It's here that Robb Stark hears that his father Ned has been executed.
Robb's bannerman from the Houses of the North and the Riverlands pledge fealty to Robb and declare him The King in the North. And so starts the beginning of the War of the Five Kings.
When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you die. Maybe one day we'll finally find out who wins (in the books). George, you up??
Thanks to Game of Thrones Tours for providing the cloaks and swords - both very heavy! Our tour guide was fantastic. It was a long and wet but enjoyable day trekking through Winterfell. Definitely memorable!
For the grand finale of my trip to Northern Ireland, I visited Game of Thrones Studios.
